Catalogue A/W 08-09

Faye Toogood was brought on board by Habitat to direct and style the Autumn Winter catalogue for 2008-2009, where an unconventional approach to showing furniture was adopted throughout. Concepts for sets and styling were based around combining found objects and building materials with installations created out of scaffolding, rope and a warehouse filled with over 100 white boxes. Advertising A/W 08-09

Faye Toogood was asked to creative direct and style Habitat’s 2008-2009 advertising campaigns. Her ‘Future Icons’ print campaign, photographed by Tom Mannion, used an architectural concrete set that highlighted Habitat’s most important pieces. ‘Lighten up at Christmas’, a billboard campaign photographed by Henry Bourne, was based around the idea of all of us finding and decorating an alternative Christmas tree. It featured a white horse emblazoned with garlands and baubles, alongside bikes, lamp posts, cars and other familiar objects. The concept was then translated from print to exhibition in two dynamic installations in Paris and London.

Press Show Christmas 08

For Christmas 2008, Studio Toogood was asked to re-create the White Horse advertising campaign in two site-specific installations for Habitat’s London and Paris flagship shops. A 4m-high white horse was hand-sculpted for the spaces and decorated in the new collections of baubles and garlands.

Press Show S/S 09

Studio Toogood was asked to work on the concept, detailed design and installation of Habitat’s 2009 ‘Pure Form/Pure Contrast’ launch in London. This installation was based around a free-flowing wooden tunnel that united the two exhibition spaces, one part of it left raw and untreated, the other coated in bright orange.
